Κalliope Bairami graduated from the University of Athens, Department of History and Archaeology (1990) and acquired her PhD in Classical Archaeology from the University of Athens (2012). In 2024 she completed her post-doctoral research in the same University, about “The sanctuary of All Gods in Rhodes”
Since 1993 she has been working at the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, initially at the Ephorate of Antiquities of Dodecanese (until 2023) where she conducted rescue excavetions and administrative work in Rhodes, Nisyros, Kastellorizo, Chalke and Leros. She took part in the project for the foundation of the Archaeological Museum of Nisyros, in the projects for the Restoration, presentation and enhancement of the ancient fortification wall of Nisyros and the restoration and enhancement of the ancient tower in Rho and the fortification wall of Palaiokastro in Megiste.
Since 2023 she works at the National Archaeological Museum.
Her PhD thesis was about the large scale Rhodian sculpture of Hellenistic and Roman times and her publications are about Hellenistic and Roman sculpture and pottery of Rhodes.
