The Unseen Museum is a successful activity of the National Archaeological Museum that brings out selected antiquities from the world of the storerooms.

After a series of 18 wonderful archaeological assemblages that have been presented to date, the Unseen Museum hosts «the textile of the lord from Lefkandi». It is an impressive and quite rare work of the ancient art of weaving, preserved in excellent condition, which had been offered, along other valuable gifts, in a ruler’s burial of the «Dark Ages» (11^th – 9^th cent. B.C.) at Lefkandi of Euboea. «The textile of the lord from Lefkandi» was presented on Monday, 21 January 2019, in the «altar room» (room 34) and will remain on display until Sunday, 5 May 2019.

On Sundays, 10 and 24 of February, 10 and 24 of March and 5 of May, as well as on Wednesdays, 17 and 24 of April 2019, at 13.00 hours, archaeologists and conservators of the Museum and members of the interdisciplinary team that are studying the find, welcome the visitors to the exhibition area and converse with them about the «dark ages», the glorious «lord from Lefkandi» and the secrets of ancient textiles and their conservation.

Sundays, 10 and 24 February, 10 and 24 March and 5 May 2019,

Starting time: 13.00 hours.

To attend the presentations, provision of ticket is required as well as enlisting of participation at arrival. Priority order will be observed.
