Andreas Kourkoulas was a professor at the National Technical University of Athens and has lectured, taught, and collaborated with various faculties abroad, among others Mendrisio, EPFL, Architectural Association, Bartlett – U.C.L., Catholic University of Chile, Istanbul Technical University, Georgia Tech.
Andreas Kourkoulas co-founded – together with Maria Kokkinou – the architectural office Kokkinou Kourkoulas Architects and Associates in 1989. The work of the office has been published internationally and received numerous distinctions, most notably two nominations for the Mies Van der Rohe Award of the European Union. Having prioritized ecological issues from the beginning, the office was granted the first LEED Gold award for an office complex completed in Greece. Their work ranges from residences, shops, restaurants, hotels, museums and large office complexes.
