Chrysanthi Tsouli graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, acquired an Erasmus Program Scholarship in Christian-Albrechts Universität of Kiel (Germany) for part of her Master studies and a PhD in Classical Archaeology from the University of Athens (2013. Thesis title: “Koan funerary monuments: a contribution to the study of the typology and the iconography of the funerary monuments of the Hellenistic and Roman period”). Since 1997 she has been working at the National Archaeological Museum, Athens. She has specialized in the research of ancient Greek sculpture and her research focusses on funerary archaeology, but she has also interest in cultural heritage and the fate of Greek antiquities in times of conflict (the Greek War of Independence, the Asia Minor Expedition and the Second World War) through archival testimonies.
