Eleni Konstantinidi-Syvridi is Curator in the Department of Prehistoric, Egyptian, Cypriot and Near Eastern Collections of Antiquities. She studied Archeology at the University of Ioannina, Greece and then obtained a Master and a PhD from the Department of Archeology at the University of Birmingham, England. Her research focuses on the Late Bronze Age in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean(1600-1100 BC) and especially in Mycenaean jewelry and dress.
She has given seminars and lectures in Greece and abroad on the research and technology of Mycenaean jewelry and has published articles, book chapters, as well as two monographs on the Bronze Age jewelry and the ivory combs in the Mycenaean Collection of NAM respectively. Over the past decade, she has been co-directing an interdisciplinary program for the reconstruction of ancient gold-working techniques and has received research funding from the A.G. Leventis Foundation, the Psychas Foundation, the George and Victoria Karelia Foundation, the British School of Athens (BSA) and the Institute of Aegean Prehistory (INSTAP).
