Art exhibition “Shadows of Fire” of Andreas Nikolaidis at the Museum Cafe
In the cafe area of the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, from May 14 to June 5, 2024, the solo exhibition of Andreas Nikolaidis entitled “Shadows of Fire”, curated by art historian Eleni Gatsa, will be hosted.Andreas Nikolaidis stands out for his unique technique and the way he incorporates fire into his creative process. Consistent and steadfast in carving out his personal visual idiom, he delves more and more feverishly into a technique that subverts conventional and aesthetic reality, seeking to redefine the world through a new approach. Taming fire as a material, his creations echo the experience of transition. With each movement of the flame, it reveals the details of human existence, creating images – shadows of emotions and experiences that draw inspiration from the past and the present in search of the relationship between the real and the imaginary, the authentic and the artificial, the spoken and the silent.Fire and time give perspective, allowing change to unfold, revealing life as it moves from shadow to light, creating new dimensions in perception of space and experience.
These shadows of fire represent the course of life, the evolution and promotion of the commemorated elements into modern reality.“With these images, I aim to evoke a sense of nostalgia and introspection on a journey of self-awareness and memories. Each of my works is a gateway to the past, a narrative and a challenge to the rich journey of human tradition and memory,” says the artis.
